Easter Weekend

I was able to attend Joshua's first field day.  It was a few hours of games outdoors with his classmates.  The first event was the spoon race and he had his concentration tongue out.  

His favorite event was tug of war because his team won every time!

We came home and Matt was home to make up for all the extra weekends he has had to work lately.  It was time to transform the former playroom in to a nursery for our princesses!  All three boys have helped with every step of the process.  They were thrilled with their hard work.

We dyed eggs using cool whip this year.  We try a new way every year and this was by far the tastiest.  

We went to an oyster festival and the boys didn't try any but we all checked it off.

Julia took the boys to the beach to check out boats while I made a few recipes for an activity later that day.  Elizabeth, Rachel, and Dad went to Ship Island.

Once my food was done Julia came back and it was hair cut time for all three of us.

Then it was off to the luau. Friday and Saturday would have been long boring days while Matt worked without my family around.  

Sunday morning was Easter morning.  We continued our tradition of the resurrection eggs.  BOTH boys were able to tell the story as they opened each egg this year though.

Nathan opened the empty egg to symbolize the empty tomb. The next egg tells them to celebrate the sweet news with a treat and off they go to find their baskets.

They were both thrilled with their baskets.  Joshua said, "He had been so busy every night with our lessons and talking about Jesus that he forgot about a bunny coming."  I consider that a holiday win.  

We had Easter bunny cinnamon rolls.

I love this family of mine and I love being a mom!  Sunday Matt was with us all day since there were no bonus church meetings.  It was nice and Matt did a wonderful job speaking.

 The lovely host that included us with her large family celebration.  It was fun and made me miss my childhood.  We always had a ton of family all eating inside and outside, kids running around together, and then a huge egg hunt.  

Easter was a success this year.  Now, it is time to relax on spring break and savor the time as a family of four while also excitedly preparing for our expansion!
