It has been a long year for Matt with continuing his residency and doing away rotations (only two more to go). He has also had several colds and stomach flu alternating almost continuously. This is unlike Matt. He topped off his medical problems though when he had to deal with kidney stones in December. I have never seen Matt in this much pain and we hope he never has to repeat this experience. He still runs for water every time he gets a little twinge of pain.
Joshua is showing you his candle blowing face. The boys helped Matt blow out ALL of his candles. We celebrated with a German chocolate cake and a new frosting recipe that was amazing! We ate an early dinner because Matt had to work that evening. We went to Red Robin because Matt spoils his children and Joshua has been begging to go. It was a short celebration but still good. The boys made cards and we're both thrilled to give these gifts.
I love this man hope we made him feel loved and celebrated!
