We have finished the paperwork, visits, and classes required to be adoptive parents. We have been sharing our desire to adopt with everyone we can. We are asking all of our friends to help us spread the word. You never know who may know someone out there that is faced with the difficult decision of placing a baby for adoption. We know everyone is different and we aren't judging anyone by what they have chosen for their family or are deciding to choose now.
According the research, many women either abort their babies or feel that they should keep the baby and make it the best way she can out of obligation. Everyone is entitled to their own choices but through the training and research we have done to prepare for adoption, we have really developed a respect and love for women that are courageous enough to choose adoption for their child. These women carry a child and then lovingly place it another's arms to raise. I can't even begin to imagine what that would feel like. I am doing my best reading personal accounts to try and understand it to a small degree.
We hope to have an open relationship with our birth mother as much as she is comfortable with having. You can never have too many people loving your child. We plan to be open with our child from the start about adoption because secrets imply shame. There is nothing shameful about a woman knowing that she is not able or ready and selflessly placing that baby in another family. We would be so honored if a birth mother chose us. We feel that children can come to your family in a variety of ways and none trumps another. We will celebrate our adopted child and their unique birth story.

I am SO happy for yall and pray that God will soon place another child in your arms!
I heard a long time ago of something adoptive mother's say, "You were not born from my belly, you were born from my heart." So sweet :)
