Another Month Gone

April flew by after our spring break fun.  We worked hard on school assignments and also did a lot of fun school extras too.
Picking wild blackberries by our house.

Our read aloud talked about 3 legged races and the boys didn't know what that was so life lesson time

Harry Potter inspired broom bookmarks

We watched caterpillars become butterflies and released them.

We did kid yoga from cosmic kids.  I forgot what a fun resource this is for kids (and grown up teachers too)

Learning to make other colors while then matching it to different numbers.  Sneaky teaching.

Military kid day at the air force base.  Our kids don't know but deployment is coming fast.  Matt has weeks and weeks of training starting in two weeks and then he will be gone for a 6+ month deployment.  Last time we thought it was coming we told the boys to prepare them and poor Joshua was sick to his stomach over it.  This time we aren't going to do that so he doesn't have to worry leading up to it.

Love these three guys!

We got to go out on a short but enjoyable boat ride.

Pie game booth.

Dairy farm tour

Homeschooled by the water

Nathan has always loved to watch birds

Legos over two days with Dad.  These boys love love their Dad.

The last few weeks have been a blur of fast and slow days.  We've had good days and not so good days but I am coming to accept that as life.  We've had uncertainty and excitement as we look into different elements of our future.  We are trying our best to be in the moment and appreciate those and not think about the unknowns of tomorrow.

Stay tuned though because we are ending our school year in a BIG way.  Next week we are going on a surprise trip to Universal Studios for the purpose of Harry Potter World.  These fans are going to love this surprise ending to our year of Hogwarts School of Wizardry (hopefully).
